Over the past year and a half or so, I have been the live keyboardist for Fringe Pipes, a band that had its origins at St. Olaf College while I was a student there. I was not in the band at that time, but was friends or at least acquaintances with many of the members. Fringe Pipes went on hiatus in 2016 but reformed a couple of years ago in the Twin Cites, at which point I joined.

I’m very proud of all the work that has gone into this new EP. I played 5 of these 6 tracks live with the band in addition to others from older albums and some non-album tunes.

On this EP, you can hear my playing on tracks 2 and 3. I am fortunate to share this recording with the talents of the live band members as well as with some artists who I haven’t played these tunes with in real life.

Listening to this album is in some ways nostalgic as playing these tunes at shows with other humans now seems like a bygone era.

Major congrats to Colin Loynachan for his vision and realization of this project.

Hope you enjoy.
