Love, Art, and the Deepest Desire
March 15, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Join the Murphy Institute for an evening of song and celebration in the newly renovated Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, featuring soprano Elena Stabile, accompanied by Yoshi Weinberg on flute and Michael Betz on piano. Ms. Stabile will perform two contemporary classical song cycles: “Passing Melodies,” Samuel Barber’s composition based on the poetry of Rainer Maria Rilke, and “The Deepest Desire: Four Meditations on Love,” Jake Hegge’s music based on the meditations of activist and author (Dead Man Walking), Sr. Helen Prejean.
There will be a complimentary reception in Hofstede Hall (lower level of the church) immediately following the program for those who register online.
