About the Soundtrack
[2020 EDIT: This page stands as testament to the hours sacrificed to a teenage passion project. The resultant film has no affiliation with the Mattel brand.]
The slogan of Pictionary Man tells it all: “10 Teenagers. 2 Days of Filming. 1 Camera. No Script.” The film was essentially an exercise in post-production: seeing if horrid, plotless footage could be woven into something resembling a coherent film. I cannot ascertain that we were successful. It took at least 50 hours of post-production using lackluster, crash-prone software (Pinnacle Studio 12, anyone?) to stitch the thing together. Due to the cast’s improvisation/lack thereof, many licensed names/plagiarized scenes were used, most of them without my knowledge, so I have elected to remove the soundtrack from public availability.
Composition of the soundtrack was an interesting process. I was a traveling bard in the film and played a baritone ukulele. I improvised music throughout the film, and then based the entire soundtrack on said source music.
Filming and the majority of the fun took place over the summer of 2009. Editing and the majority of the suffering took place over the summer of 2010.
